Electronic contract system and method. Trans Via Electronic Contract Card.
Abstract
A method and system of issuing an electronic contract card and subsequent authorization and validation for pre-scheduled activities such as car rental reservations to eliminate paper documentation. Trans Via’s Electronic Contract technology creates and employs a family of interface programmes for the travel industry’s operating and reservation systems to provide global traveller/customer recognition and convenience at the point-of-sale. ViaConnect Interface Programmes (VIPs) are designed to connect transportation and transportation-related Vendors to ViaServe, an electronic communications processing centre, and Electronic Contract Customer File host which is fully connected to the travel agent community, major reservation systems, financial institutions, telecommunications systems, and selected travel-related data bureaus worldwide.
At the point-of-travel, the Customer is instantly recognised when their Trans Via Electronic Contract Customer File is accessed through the VIP with their Trans Via card and PIN. Reservation confirmation and all transaction processing data (including helpful and vital insurance coverage and Driver’s Licence status confirmation) is immediately displayed for transaction execution without requiring the Customer to sign contracts or produce credit cards and identification. Use of the Trans Via card at the point-of-travel electronically updates the Customer’s Electronic Contract, expedites the Customer’s access or aggress, accurately defines the transaction, and maintains records of all relevant events. Payments for travel can be made through the Trans Via card indirectly by accessing the Customer’s credit card file, or directly, utilizing the “Credit on File” feature.
The “Credit on File” feature permits travellers that do not possess credit cards to deposit cash towards their Electronic Contract Customer File so they may enjoy all of the credit card payment advantages that hotels and car rental agencies prefer to offer while travelling. ViaServe’s EMD Partition provides daily Electronic Manifest and Disbursement services for related service providers to the travel transaction (such as travel agents and reservation systems agents) for fast and efficient financial settlement.
Trans Via’s Electronic Contract technology has been created to combine ticketing, contracting, payment, and identification procedures for many different modes of transportation into one easy-to-use format which accesses ViaServe’s family of interface programmes for travel industry operating and reservation systems providing accurate and prompt travel related transactions.
